Jake Weaver for Business Person of the Year!

The Metro Atlanta Chamber and the Atlanta Business Chronicle have honored and recognized entrepreneurship in the Atlanta community for more than 28 years. This year, our founder, Jake Weaver, is a finalist for MAC's Business Person of the Year award in the Emerging Entrepreneur category. 

For Jake, being an entrepreneur was always in the cards. Jake hails from a small town in Missouri, where community was everything. As the son and grandson of business owners, Jake learned early that success is earned by working hard, treating people right, and doing the right thing by your customers. In 1996, Jake built his first computer, and it was a moment that would shape his life for good.

A budding technology career lead him to the consulting world, and at 21, Jake became a consultant for Accenture. Over the next 14 years, Jake experienced all angles of the technology world as a support person, business analyst, software developer, project manager, and Windows stack and LAMP consultant. Jake worked in the industry for 14 years before starting Codesigned with his wife, Meredith.

Codesigned was created in response to the overwhelming pressure and isolation that drove so many of Jake's colleagues to leave consulting for other pursuits. He wanted to create an exciting work environment that was both nurturing and fast-paced. After three years, Codesigned has moved from Jake's dining room table to an office with an arsenal of SharePoint architects, consultants, designers, and business analysts.

In the same three years, Codesigned has created public-facing websites, intranets, and extranets in SharePoint for companies like WellStar Health System, McKesson, Floyd Medical Center, and law firm McKenna Long & Aldridge. This growth and success lead to a Microsoft Gold Managed Partner certification in record time and the Inc. Magazine Hire Power Award for job creation and growth.
